About the role
The Policy Specialist will contribute to the development of critical policy changes, impactful improvement programs and initiatives that drive, support and improve access to health and disability services provided to TAC clients. In this role you will bring your expertise in policy and service delivery to solve complex problems. This position requires a high level of initiative, decision-making and leadership skills.

About the team
This role is part of the Policy, Service Delivery & Clinical Advisory branch within the Clients division. You will be joining a vibrant, energised and high performing team who aim to improve client experience and outcomes through robust policy and evidence-based clinical advice​.

What we’re looking for

Policy Design, Review, and Analysis Experience

  • Proven expertise in setting and shaping policy to achieve targeted service delivery outcomes.
  • Skilled in collecting and analysing data to inform the development and monitoring of policy initiatives.
  • Experienced in leading the design and implementation of policy frameworks, service models, and business improvement processes that optimise support pathways.
  • Capable of translating complex research and data into practical solutions, ensuring policies align with strategic business goals and are effectively transitioned into business-as-usual operations.

Problem Solving

  • A critical thinker with a strong ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve complex issues.
  • Demonstrated experience in leveraging sector knowledge and intelligence to quantify risks and develop robust strategies for managing both expected and unexpected challenges.
  • Adept at influencing the thinking and actions of others, with a focus on developing innovative, outcome-focused solutions that drive successful project delivery and strategic business objectives.

    Stakeholder Engagement
  • Expert in developing and implementing comprehensive communication and engagement strategies with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships, ensuring stakeholder input is integrated effectively to achieve project outcomes.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, evidenced by the ability to prepare and deliver high-quality reports, presentations, and project documentation that inform and influence decision-making.
  • Skilled in managing critical business relationships, supporting teams, and fostering strong partnerships across the organisation.
