About the role

The Senior Taxation & Compliance Accountant supports the Finance Manager and Director Finance & Procurement with tax and financial management compliance activities. The successful incumbent will be responsible for various tax lodgement obligations with Federal and State authorities, providing meaningful taxation advice to internal stakeholders, and overseeing Financial Management compliance activities.

 

About the Team

This role sits within the Finance and Procurement branch, in the Finance and Governance division at the TAC. This division ensures that the TAC is financially sustainable, efficient and is governed effectively.

You will be joining an engaged, collaborative team that are willing to assist each other when needed. You will report directly to the Finance Manager, who will provide support and encouragement, whilst giving you the autonomy you need to craft the role as your own.

 

What we’re looking for

Accounting and compliance experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial accounting role
  • Highly developed technical knowledge of State and Federal taxes
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, supported by membership in CAANZ or the CPA Australia
  • Well-developed knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and/or FMA requirements (highly desirable)

Strong stakeholder management

  • Experience working with stakeholders at various levels and across an organisation
  • Ability to liaise with relevant business divisions to coordinate and educate on Financial Management and Tax compliance activities
