About the role
As a Road Safety Program Officer, you'll be assisting in coordinating Victoria's major road safety initiatives, including reviewing project funding applications and monitoring the progress of council-delivered projects for the TAC-funded Safe Local Roads and Streets Program. Working alongside the Department of Transport and Planning and local government, you will support the planning, development, funding and governance of road safety infrastructure projects.

About the Team

• This role will be part of our Infrastructure Programs branch within the Road Safety Division, responsible for managing and delivering TAC-funded road safety programs

• You will work closely with the Road Safety Program Manager, within a team of 6 who foster a supportive enabling culture.

• The team values autonomy, trust, and flexibility, allowing you to adapt to various office locations based on business needs

What we’re looking for

Program Management and Delivery Support
Support the Road Safety Program Manager in delivering the Safe Local Roads and Streets Program, applying specific road safety knowledge to ensure projects meet Safe System requirements. Your role will involve assessing funding submissions, managing consultants, monitoring projects, assisting with program governance and administering the project application platform, all while collaborating closely with Road Safety Victoria and local government.

Stakeholder Engagement
Foster and maintain constructive relationships with key stakeholders including the TAC, Department of Transport and Planning, and local government. Your ability to engage effectively and collaboratively will be crucial in program delivery and ensuring stakeholder engagement and support.

Continuous Improvement and Risk Management
Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance program delivery, performance, and governance. Proactively manage and report on risks and issues across projects, while working to advance Safe System principles and capability within local government through coaching and innovative practices.
