About the role

The successful applicant would be responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial non-litigated matters leading the provision of legal services in relation to Information Communication Technology (ICT). The provision of these services is vital to the TAC’s successful delivery of its strategy.  The role will be required to partner with the business to provide strategic legal advice and support major ICT procurements.

They would also be supporting the Senior Manager Corporate Legal in developing and implementing innovative commercial/corporate legal risk management strategies.

The role will be part of a collaborative team, however the successful applicant must be able to manage a portfolio of work autonomously. The successful applicant must therefore be highly motivated and show great initiative.  They must be able to think strategically to solve problems for the business.

About the Team

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Legal this role sits within the Corporate Legal Branch in the Finance and Governance Division.  The Finance & Governance Division is an enabling Division of the TAC who is responsible for providing Governance & Integrity, Corporate Legal and Finance & Procurement support to the TAC.

The Corporate Legal team is a collaborative and supportive team, who aims to foster and empower career and personal growth of all its team members.   Corporate Legal strives to provide value in everything we do, while ensuring we support each other to succeed.

What we’re looking for

Bachelor of Laws

Must have a Bachelor of Laws or equivalent and hold a current practising certificate and admitted as an Australian Lawyer.

Significant experience in a similar role

Significant post-admission commercial (non-litigious) legal experience specifically in IT law and procurement.

Collaboration & Communication

Proven experience in collaborating across multiple divisions and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
