Care in Action

With a career at the TAC, you’ll be helping us look out for the lives of everyone who travels on Victoria’s roads. That’s care in action.

Find out more about our shared purpose, and what drives every one of us.

Right now, we’re seeking two Data Science Analysts who will play their part in this shared purpose, while also supporting the progress of clients and colleagues so they can achieve great things. That’s truly rewarding work that will help us continue to deliver life-critical services where it matters.

About the role

We’re seeking two curious and detail-oriented Data Science Analysts to join our Strategy & Research branch. This role plays a key part in enabling data-driven decisions across the organisation by supporting the acquisition, preparation, and management of high-quality data.

You’ll work closely with the Manager, Platform, Data & AI and collaborate with internal stakeholders to support exploratory and predictive analysis, contribute to documentation, and help deliver insights that shape strategic outcomes. This is a fantastic opportunity to build your technical capability while contributing to meaningful work that impacts both employees and clients.

About the Team

You’ll be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team and work closely with stakeholders across the TAC to ensure our data science activities are accurate, actionable, and aligned with organisational goals. The team values curiosity, continuous learning, and shared success – everyone contributes and everyone grows.

What we’re looking for

Strong Technical Foundation

You hold a relevant degree and have a solid grasp of statistical and mathematical methods. You’re confident working across the data supply chain – from extraction and cleaning to transformation and analysis. You’re familiar with tools like SQL, Python, Pandas, and R.

Analytical Precision & Data Quality Focus

You have a keen eye for detail and know how to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies. You’re committed to ensuring data accuracy and completeness, and you document your processes clearly to support transparency and repeatability.

Communication & Collaboration Skills

You’re comfortable presenting insights to a variety of stakeholders and contributing to workshops and forums. You understand the importance of clear documentation and thrive in agile, iterative environments where collaboration is key.

Why you’ll love it here

There’s more to work than a competitive salary and amazing employee benefits. As our newest Data Science Analyst you’ll also:

Be rewarded for great work

We value our people, offering salary packaging and a reward and recognition program.

We’re invested in your progress. When you work for one of Victoria’s largest and leading workplaces, you’ll receive extensive internal opportunities for development and access to the LinkedIn Learning Digital Hub.
