About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Manager of Analytics and Insights to join our Performance, Risk & Strategy Division at the TAC in Geelong. This pivotal role involves leading a team of business intelligence professionals to drive strategic initiatives and enhance the analytical capabilities of the organisation. 

You will be responsible for promoting the value of analytics to executives and leaders while ensuring alignment across various teams to achieve impactful insights and decision-making. Your expertise will guide the development of standards for reporting and dashboards, enhance data literacy, and foster a culture of innovation within the organisation.

 

About the Team

The Performance Insights & Analytics branch is committed to advancing TAC’s strategic direction through effective analysis and insights. Within this collaborative environment , you will manage a team dedicated to delivering high-quality business intelligence products and services.

 Our division influences the organisations’ ability to respond to performance data, align with strategic priorities, and address emerging issues, all while maintaining a focus on continuous improvement and agility. As a leader within our team, you will work closely with cross-functional partners to enhance the TAC’s data architecture and practices, ensuring we’re at the forefront of industry advancements.

 

What we’re looking for 

Leadership & Team Development

Exceptional leadership skills are essential for managing and mentoring a diverse team of analytics professionals. You will create an environment that encourages growth, continuous learning, and the adoption of new skills. Your demonstrated ability to coach cross-functional teams in an agile setting will be critical to fostering high performance and collaboration across the organisation.

 

Technical Expertise & Data Literacy

A strong background in business intelligence is a must. You’ll leverage your expertise in tools such as SQL and Python, along with data visualisation techniques, to translate complex data into actionable insights. You will be tasked with developing the TAC’s data literacy and enhancing analytical maturity through programs such as Data Academies and Communities of Practice.

 

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are vital to this role. You will need to engage with executives and senior leaders, presenting complex analytical findings clearly and persuasively. Your ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels will be crucial to driving the adoption of analytics across the organisation.
