About the role 

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Manager, Platform, Data & AI to lead within our Performance Insights & Analytics Branch. This pivotal leadership role is responsible for overseeing the design, build, and maintenance of infrastructure and tools that manage extensive volumes of data.

 As a qualified candidate, you will possess an insatiable desire to innovate, execute and follow-through. You will detest manual processes, mediocrity and moving at a glacial pace.

 You will be instrumental in developing a data architecture strategy that aligns with the TAC’s vision of self-service analytics while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, learning and innovation within the team.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conceptualise and communicate Data architecture strategy, technical design and technology roadmap for data platform solutions and services.
  • Lead design and development of data architecture to support implementation of large-scale data solutions in Databricks to support multiple use cases (Legacy Datawarehouse migration to cloud, reporting and analytics, enabling data science).
  • Guiding the organisation and development teams on the overall data processes, architectural approaches for data strategy design and implementation.
  • Providing data solutions that enable business intelligence data integrations, data services, self-service analytics, and data-driven digital products and services.
  • Providing recommendations on opportunities and improvements and participating in technology and analytics proof-of-concepts.
  • Develop and embed industry defined best practice for data engineering, data modelling and devops.
  • Work closely with the Portfolio and Product practice, the Analytics and Insights Practice and data science teams to design and develop analytical solution.

You will join a dynamic and cross-functional team dedicated to achieving the TAC’s ambitious strategic goals through data driven insights. The Performance Insights & Analytics branch encompasses a diverse skill set, including actuarial science, performance analytics, business intelligence, and enterprise risk management.

What we’re looking for

 

Strategic Planning & Stakeholder Communication

You will have the capacity to conceptualise and communicate complex data strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will oversee the strategic planning of data projects, ensure alignment with business objectives, and maintain a proactive approach to drive data-related initiatives, all while building robust relationships with cross-functional teams.

 

Leadership & Team Development

You will have excellent leadership abilities with a demonstrated history of managing high-performing, cross-functional teams in an agile setting. Your capabilities in coaching and mentoring team members will be essential for fostering professional growth, guiding team members through agile methodologies, and promoting a culture of collaboration and innovation.

 

Technical Expertise in Data Engineering

You will possess extensive knowledge of data engineering principles, architectures (including Medallion Lakehouse Architecture), and best practices to design scalable data solutions. You will lead the construction and maintenance of reliable data pipelines, champion data engineering standards, and introduce advanced DevOps and MLOps processes.
