About the role

The Senior Manager, Payments and Claims Support plays a critical role in ensuring seamless payment delivery to clients and providers, while providing strong claims administration support to the claims team.

This role is focused on building a high-performing branch by fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where team members can thrive. Emphasising strategic planning and innovation, you will leverage technology and digital solutions to drive continuous improvement and deliver exceptional outcomes for clients, providers, and the TAC.

You will also lead key initiatives in partnership with the Enterprise Transformation division, including process optimisation and enhancing efficiencies through a new digital mailroom partner to improve client and provider experiences.

About the Team

This role will manage the Payments and Claims Support branch within TAC’s Clients division who work to achieve efficient, just and cost effective injury recovery and independence outcomes for those injured in transport accidents.

You will oversee a team of over 80 staff, including five direct reports, supporting them in enhancing capabilities, managing change, and effectively leading their teams in a highly operational environment. The team is passionate about their work and thrives under strong leadership in a dynamic setting.

You’ll be supported by the General Manager, Service and Operations, who empowers their Senior Managers to lead effectively and drive operational success. The leadership team values collaboration, empathy, and purposeful action across all operations.

What we’re looking for

Operational and Strategic Execution

Proven experience in leading operations and strategic business planning within a government or commercial personal injury insurance environment. You’ll bring a systems thinking approach and the ability to execute strategies that enhance client and provider experiences.

High Performance Leadership

Experience leading and developing large, multi-disciplinary teams with the understanding that trust, collaboration and curiosity are essential for building a safe, inclusive and high performing culture.

Transformation Mindset

Proven ability in driving positive transformation by reengineering processes and leveraging digital solutions. You’ll bring others along on the change journey, ensuring a holistic view and alignment across the organisation.
