About the role
The Senior Vehicle Safety Specialist plays a key role in shaping and delivering projects aimed at improving road safety and reducing the number and severity of TAC claims, with a focus on Vehicle Safety, Connected and Automated Vehicles, Motorcycles, and Technology.
In addition to leading strategic initiatives, you will provide technical advice and support on road safety matters across committees, projects, public education activities, and events.
About the Team
You’ll be part of the Vehicle Safety, Innovation and Technology unit within TAC’s Road Safety division, a small but impactful team working towards the broader goal of reducing transport fatalities and serious injuries.
You’ll be closely supported by the Manager, Vehicle Safety, Innovation and Technology, who values continuous learning and professional growth while offering a flexible and accommodating work environment. The team meets in the Geelong office on Tuesdays.
What we’re looking for
Vehicle and Road Safety Expertise
Experience and expertise in one or more of the following areas is required: Vehicle Safety, Connected and Automated Vehicles, Motorcycles. Knowledge of road safety and the Safe System approach would be highly regarded.
Skilled Communicator and Stakeholder Manager
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to identify, build and influence relationships across key stakeholders. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience writing technical documents for diverse audiences.
Project Management Excellence
Proven project planning and management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple activities and oversee the investment to ensure all deliverables are met. Ability to translate research into actionable initiatives.
