Right now, we’re seeking a Senior Data Engineer who will play their part in this shared purpose, while also supporting the progress of clients and colleagues so they can achieve great things. About the role

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for the design, build and optimisation of scalable data pipelines, data models, and cloud-based solutions for the TAC. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for coaching a small team of data engineers, support advanced analytics and AI initiatives, and play a key role in the transformation from legacy systems to a modern data ecosystem.

  

About the Team

Join the Performance, Insights & Analytics branch in our Geelong office, where you will collaborate with a dedicated team committed to shaping the strategic direction of the TAC.

Our division is responsible for Actuarial, Performance Analytics, Business Intelligence, Enterprise Risk Management, and Strategy functions. We value innovation, continuous improvement, and effective stakeholder engagement to deliver outcomes that align with TAC’s strategic goals.

 

What we’re looking for 

Technical Leadership & Cloud Experience

Significant data engineering experience, with a deep understanding of DataBricks, Apache Spark and ETL tools. Experience in leading the design and implementation of scalable data pipelines, CI/CD workflows, and infrastructure-as-code solutions.

 

Data Architecture & Integration Expertise

Skilled in data modelling, ETL/ELT design, and integrating diverse data sources via APIs and real time processing tools. You understand how to build high-performing, secure and reusable data frameworks that support analytics and machine learning.

 

Leadership & Agile Collaboration

You have a passion for coaching and mentorship, experienced in leading cross-functional teams in agile environment and have an ability to translate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
