Care in Action
With a career at the TAC, you’ll be helping us look out for the lives of everyone who travels on Victoria’s roads. That’s care in action.
Find out more about our shared purpose, and what drives every one of us.
Right now, we’re seeking a Solicitor who will play their part in this shared purpose, while also supporting the progress of clients and colleagues so they can achieve great things. That’s truly rewarding work that will help us continue to deliver life-critical services where it matters.
About the role
As a Solicitor in our Corporate Legal team, you will manage your own portfolio of commercial, non-litigated matters, providing practical, solutions-focused legal advice that supports the TAC’s strategic objectives and transformation agenda, aligned with the Make Every Day Matter Strategy and our role within the Victorian community.
This role is about more than just legal expertise – it’s about collaboration and building strong, trusted relationships across the organisation. With no billable hours and flexible hybrid work models, you’ll have the opportunity to balance purpose and impact, empowering stakeholders to make confident, informed decisions that contribute to TAC’s purpose.
About the Team
This position sits within the newly established Corporate Legal & Compliance branch – making it an exciting time to join the Finance & Governance division, a team dedicated to ensuring TAC is financially sustainable, operates efficiently, and is governed effectively.
You will be part of a motivated group of Solicitors eager to learn, grow, and shape the evolution of the function. Supported by strong, strategic and hands-on leaders, you’ll be empowered to achieve your goals and deliver meaningful impact across the organisation.
What we’re looking for
Experienced Legal Professional
You hold tertiary qualifications in Law, a current Victorian Practising Certificate, and admission as an Australian Lawyer. You bring substantial experience in commercial (non-litigious) law, with a strong track record of managing complex legal matters across both operational and strategic levels.
Collaborative & Trusted Stakeholder Partner
You’re skilled in building and maintaining strong internal relationships and bring a collaborative, pragmatic approach to your work. Organised and adaptable, you’re confident in your ability to influence, negotiate, and provide practical legal solutions that drive outcomes.
Why you’ll love it here
There’s more to work than a competitive salary and amazing employee benefits. As our newest Solicitor, you’ll also:
Make a positive difference
Every day the work you do at the TAC contributes to something bigger. As part of an inclusive, supportive team you’ll find real purpose in achieving goals, together.
Be rewarded for great work
We value our people, offering a corporate incentive, salary packaging and a reward and recognition program.
Grow and go places
We’re invested in your progress. When you work for one of Victoria’s largest and leading workplaces, you’ll receive extensive internal opportunities for development and access to the LinkedIn Learning Digital Hub.
