Right now, we’re seeking a Technical Specialist – Java who will play their part in the shared purposes. Someone with the right skills and expertise, as well as attitude and openness to new ideas, that help advance positive outcomes for the organisations, their colleagues, and themselves.
Two organisations. One IT division.
This role is for a position in the IT Shared Solutions (ITSS) division. A collaboration area in which the TAC and WorkSafe Victoria share resources to deliver IT solutions. If successful in your application, you will be employed by TAC working across both organisations.
About the role
The Technical Specialist, Java provides a range of technical services supporting, maintaining, enhancing, designing, building, and deploying features and modules to the TAC for a range of applications including business critical products. You will collaborate with testers, senior developers, business analysts, and product owners to drive continuous improvement and delivery to the business that supports the Victorian community in getting their lives back on track.
You will have the opportunity to work with our test automation engineer and new features through a prototype process model.
About the Team
The Technical Specialist Java will be a part of the TAC’s Continuous Delivery technical team. The team is passionate, agile and collaborative in their approach to deliver business value changes to the TAC’s Claims Platform
What we’re looking for
Systems Knowledge
Demonstrated experience utilising web-based Java applications and web service integrations. Understanding of software development and an ability to plan and drive software construction activities.
Strong Communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills as well as the ability to effectively communicate complex technology solutions to both business and technical audiences.
Excellent Organisational Skills
Work within an agile environment that runs on a 2-week cycle with monthly releases into Production. be an active participant throughout sprint planning, elaboration, daily stand ups and retrospective meetings.
