Care in Action

With a career at the TAC, you’ll be helping us look out for the lives of everyone who travels on Victoria’s roads. That’s care in action.

Find out more about our shared purpose, and what drives every one of us.

Right now, we’re seeking a Senior Project Manager – HRIS who will play their part in this shared purpose, while also supporting the progress of clients and colleagues so they can achieve great things. That’s truly rewarding work that will help us continue to deliver life-critical services where it matters.

About the role

As the Senior Project Manager, you will lead a major HRIS transformation program that will modernise TAC’s core people, payroll and workforce processes. This is a high-impact role delivering a foundational enterprise platform uplift that directly supports TAC’s strategic priorities and future workforce capability.

You will be accountable for end-to-end delivery of a complex, multi-stream program, ensuring outcomes are achieved within agreed time, cost and quality parameters while navigating public sector governance, legislative obligations and cross-organisational dependencies. Working closely with People, Culture & Engagement, digital and technical specialists, senior executives and external vendors, you will manage the procurement process, translate business needs into robust delivery plans, manage integrated schedules and risks, and ensure strong governance and reporting.

This role operates within the broader TAC transformation landscape. You will actively manage interdependencies across concurrent enterprise programs, aligning data, process, technology and change activities to ensure cohesive and sustainable outcomes. Success in this role requires confident leadership, sound judgement, working with ambiguity and the ability to guide the organisation through a significant people and systems transformation.

About the Team

This role sits within the Enterprise Transformation division, which is responsible for delivering TAC’s most significant strategic and transformation initiatives. The division brings together business, digital, change and delivery expertise to enable sustainable, enterprise-wide outcomes that optimise client experience, employee experience and community impact.

You will work in a collaborative, outcomes-focused environment alongside experienced Program Managers, Change specialists and People & Culture leaders. The culture values trust, accountability, curiosity and continuous improvement, with leaders empowered to own their delivery while partnering closely across the organisation.

What we’re looking for

Experienced HRIS Project Manager

You bring rich experience delivering complex business and digital transformation programs, with deep expertise in HRIS implementations across people, payroll and workforce domains. You are comfortable leading multi-stream programs, managing integrated schedules, procurement, risks and dependencies, and delivering outcomes in regulated or public sector environments. PRINCE2 and/or Agile certification is essential.

Strategic Delivery & Stakeholder Partner

You excel at working with senior executives, People & Culture leaders, technical SMEs and external vendors to shape delivery approaches, develop business cases and ensure fit-for-purpose governance. With strong communication and engagement skills, you can integrate diverse inputs, anticipate issues and guide stakeholders through complexity with clarity and confidence.

Confident, Values-Led People Leader

You are an experienced leader of cross-functional teams, capable of coaching, guiding and sustaining high performance through change. You role-model TAC’s values - courage, accountability, adaptability, empathy and collaboration and bring the judgement and resilience required to lead the organisation through a critical HRIS uplift.

Why you’ll love it here

There’s more to work than a competitive salary and amazing employee benefits. As our newest Senior Project Manager, you’ll also:
