When you work at the TAC, what you do matters.

At the Transport Accident Commission (TAC), our purpose is to care for the lives of everyone who travels on Victoria’s roads. Every day, we contribute to better recovery outcomes for clients and safer journeys across Victoria.

As a Solutions Architect – Data & Information, you’ll Make Every Day Matter by focusing on the problems that matter most – innovating scalable solutions that transform how TAC achieves impact at scale.

About the opportunity.

As a Solutions Architect – Data & Information, you’ll create impact by shaping how data and information move from TAC’s legacy claims environment to a modern claims platform, ensuring critical information remains accurate, accessible and trusted throughout a major transformation.

This is a hands-on solution architecture role focused on solving complex data challenges across migration, platform coexistence, integrations and information management. You’ll work closely with delivery teams, business stakeholders and implementation vendors to translate architectural principles into practical solutions that support the successful implementation of the new claims platform.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define the data migration architecture, including migration sequencing, source-to-target mapping, data quality, reconciliation and validation.
  • Design data integration and coexistence patterns that maintain consistency across legacy and new platforms throughout the transition.
  • Shape information and document migration approaches, including metadata, classification, lineage, retention and governance requirements.
  • Partner with analytics and reporting teams to maintain continuity of business and regulatory reporting as platforms transition.
  • Provide architecture guidance and assurance across data workstreams, working collaboratively with program architects, business stakeholders and vendors to resolve issues and progress delivery.

About the Team

This role sits within the Enterprise Transformation division, which leads TAC’s technology, digital and transformation agenda, delivering modern technology solutions and optimising business operations to enhance client outcomes, employee experience and community impact.

Reporting to the Principal Architect and as part of the Enterprise Architecture team, you’ll join a collaborative environment that values shared problem-solving and deep individual technical expertise, balancing architectural best practice with the realities of complex delivery.

You’ll work closely with the Claims Platform Delivery team on one of TAC’s largest and most complex transformation programs. With a shared delivery mindset and a focus on solving complex challenges together, you’ll help shape TAC’s future claims platform and support the way our business operates.

What you’ll bring.

At TAC, high performance is about turning purpose into action, and action into impact. Here’s what that looks like as a Solutions Architect – Data & Information:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and significant experience in data or solution architecture, ideally delivering complex platform transformations or system migrations.
  • Hands-on experience designing data migration, platform coexistence and integration solutions, including data modelling, source-to-target mapping and reconciliation.
  • Strong technical capability across SQL and cloud data platforms, with experience in tools such as Informatica and Azure Databricks.
  • Understanding of information management, data governance and document migration within complex or regulated environments.
  • A proactive, pragmatic approach, balancing architectural best practice with delivery realities and taking ownership of complex challenges.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across business, technology and vendor teams.
  • Experience in insurance or claims platforms will be highly regarded.
