Lean Process Engineer

• Employment type: Full time, fixed term contract for 12-months  
• Location: Geelong, with flexible hybrid working

About the opportunity.

As a Lean Process Engineer, you’ll create impact by reimagining end-to-end claims processes from the ground up, creating simpler, smarter and more sustainable ways of working that improve client and employee experiences and build a lasting culture of continuous improvement.

Key deliverables include:

• Zero-based redesigned, documented and system-configured processes for prioritised Client journeys.
• A published process improvement standard/methodology and template set adopted across claims.
• A capability uplift plan and delivered training/coaching cadence, with maturity tracked over time.
• A current, governed claims process repository (BPM tool) selection within the claims management system.
• Standard Operating Procedures and supporting tool selection
• Input to benefits realisation reporting for each completed redesign.
• Input into target operating model

About the Team

This role sits within the Enterprise Transformation division, which is responsible for delivering TAC’s most significant strategic and transformation initiatives. The division brings together business, digital, change and delivery expertise to enable sustainable, enterprise-wide outcomes that optimise client experience, employee experience and community impact. 

Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, you will work in a collaborative, outcomes-focused environment. The culture is built on trust, accountability and curiosity, with leaders empowered to own their delivery while partnering closely across the organisation to achieve shared outcomes. 

What you’ll bring.

• Lean Six Sigma expertise, with Black Belt certification, or Green Belt with substantial experience, and a strong track record in zero-based process redesign.
• Process design experience in complex environments, ideally within claims, insurance or another high-volume, regulated setting, with the ability to translate requirements into practical, sustainable processes.
• A capability-building mindset, with experience establishing process standards and governance, and coaching others to embed continuous improvement into everyday ways of working.
