Care in Action
With a career at the TAC, you’ll be helping us look out for the lives of everyone who travels on Victoria’s roads. That’s care in action.
Find out more about our shared purpose, and what drives every one of us.
Right now, we’re seeking a Principal Portfolio Delivery Manager who will play their part in this shared purpose, while also supporting the progress of clients and colleagues so they can achieve great things. That’s truly rewarding work that will help us continue to deliver life-critical services where it matters.
About the role
The Principal Portfolio Delivery Manager plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the successful delivery of a portfolio of strategic transformation programs across the organisation.
Working closely with Program Managers, senior leaders and executives, you will provide portfolio-level oversight across strategic priorities, balancing value, risk, capacity and investment to ensure resources are focused on the initiatives that will deliver the greatest organisational impact. You will maintain a consolidated view of portfolio progress, performance, benefits, risks and dependencies, enabling informed and timely executive decision-making.
You will also lead portfolio governance, prioritisation and performance reporting, while driving benefits realisation and proactively managing cross-program risks, dependencies and trade-offs. Leading a team of Program and Project Managers, you will foster a high-performing, collaborative culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement and delivery of meaningful enterprise outcomes.
About the Team
This role sits within the Enterprise Transformation division, which is responsible for delivering TAC’s most significant strategic and transformation initiatives. The division brings together business, digital, change and delivery expertise to enable sustainable, enterprise-wide outcomes that optimise client experience, employee experience and community impact.
The culture is one of trust, accountability and continuous improvement, where leaders are empowered to take ownership of their delivery space while partnering across the organisation to achieve shared outcomes.
What we’re looking for
Portfolio Delivery & Governance Expert
You bring extensive experience managing complex portfolios within large-scale transformation environments. You have strong expertise across portfolio governance, performance reporting, benefits realisation and financial oversight, with the ability to provide a clear, consolidated view of progress, risks, investment and outcomes to support executive decision-making.
Strategic Leader & Decision Maker
You are a strategic thinker with strong judgement, able to balance competing priorities and make informed trade-offs between value, risk, capacity and investment. You have a proven ability to manage interdependencies across multiple programs, optimise resource allocation and ensure delivery remains aligned to enterprise priorities and the strategic roadmap.
Collaborative Influencer & People Leader
You build strong relationships across executive, business and delivery teams, influencing outcomes through collaboration, clear communication and evidence-based insights. You are an experienced people leader who develops high-performing teams, coaches Program and Project Managers, fosters accountability and creates a culture of continuous improvement and shared success.
Why you’ll love it here
There’s more to work than a competitive salary and amazing employee benefits. As our newest Principal Portfolio Delivery Manager, you’ll also:
