About the role
This is an exciting, newly created opportunity to shape how AI is adopted across the TAC. As the AI Initiative Lead, you’ll drive TAC’s transition from experimentation to disciplined, value‑driven AI delivery - building the structures, governance, and enterprise‑wide visibility needed for responsible and impactful AI use.
This role will lead the intake, prioritisation and tracking of AI initiatives, help teams understand where AI can solve real problems, and build a clear backlog of opportunities that can be translated into practical solutions. You’ll also play a key role in embedding AI governance frameworks and policies across delivery teams, ensuring TAC adopts AI safely, responsibly and with measurable outcomes.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys connecting dots across business and technology, and wants to help shape how AI is used across a major Victorian organisation.
About the Team
The role sits within the Performance, Risk & Strategy division and reports directly to the Scheme Performance General Manager. You’ll be joining an uplifting, supportive and hardworking team with a forward‑thinking mindset. The team is known for being collaborative, disciplined in delivery, and deeply committed to driving transformation across the organisation.
What we’re looking for
Strategic AI Delivery & Governance Expertise
You bring significant experience in program or project management across technology, fintech or enterprise environments, with a strong ability to manage complex delivery portfolios, prioritise competing needs, and navigate risks, dependencies and governance requirements. Experience with AI platforms, automation tools, copilots or machine‑learning‑enabled solutions is highly desirable.
Enterprise Collaboration & Stakeholder Influence
You’re an exceptional communicator who can work across business, data and technology teams - including Executive and Senior Leadership, security, privacy, infrastructure and delivery teams. You’re confident engaging external partners and VPS organisations to benchmark, forward‑plan and compare approaches to AI adoption.
Curiosity, Judgement & Systems Thinking
You’re naturally curious, able to simplify complexity, and comfortable applying sound judgement in ambiguous environments. You can see the whole system, connect insights across teams, and help shape practical, responsible AI solutions that deliver measurable value.
